Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Display
The Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G comes with a 6.9-inch flexible AMOLED display when the phone is unfolded. The panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and animations smoother.
The flexible display has a Full HD+ resolution and is designed to provide an immersive viewing experience. AMOLED technology delivers vibrant colours and deep blacks, making the phone suitable for watching videos, browsing social media and gaming.
When the phone is folded, users get access to a 1.32-inch circular AMOLED cover display. The circular design gives the phone a distinctive appearance and allows users to interact with notifications and selected functions without opening the device.
Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Performance
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset. The processor features an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of up to 3GHz.
The phone comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, providing enough capacity for applications, photographs, videos and games.
For everyday tasks such as social media, web browsing, video streaming and multitasking, the hardware provides a smooth experience. The Dimensity 8050 also gives the phone enough power for gaming, although demanding games may require reduced graphics settings.
The 256GB storage is useful because the phone does not rely on a microSD card for additional storage.
Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Camera
The Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G features a dual rear-camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera.
The 64MP main camera is designed to capture detailed photographs in good lighting conditions. The ultra-wide camera is useful for landscapes, architecture and group photographs where a wider field of view is required.
The foldable design also makes it possible to use the rear cameras for selfies. By partially folding the phone and using the cover display as a preview screen, users can take selfies using the higher-resolution rear cameras.
This gives the PHANTOM V Flip 5G additional flexibility compared with conventional smartphones.
Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Selfie Camera
For regular selfies and video calls, the phone comes with a 32MP front camera.
The front camera is designed to capture detailed selfies and supports portrait effects. One interesting feature of the foldable design is that the phone can also be positioned at different angles for hands-free selfies and video recording.
The foldable mechanism can therefore be used as a small stand, allowing users to take group photographs, time-lapse videos and other hands-free shots.
Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Video Recording
The rear camera system supports high-resolution video recording, while the front camera can be used for selfies and video calls.
The flexible hinge gives the phone an advantage for hands-free video recording. Users can place the device on a surface at different angles without needing a separate stand.
This feature can be particularly useful for making short videos, video calls, group photographs and time-lapse content.
Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Battery
The smartphone comes with a 4,000mAh battery. While this capacity is smaller than many conventional smartphones, it is designed around the requirements of a compact foldable device.
The phone supports 45W fast charging through its USB Type-C port. Tecno also supplied a charger with the device, which makes charging more convenient out of the box.
Battery life will depend on how frequently the flexible 6.9-inch display is used, along with screen brightness, mobile network conditions, gaming and other activities.
Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Design
The design is one of the strongest features of the PHANTOM V Flip 5G. The phone folds vertically in a clamshell form factor, making it considerably smaller when closed.
When unfolded, the device measures approximately 171.7 × 74.1 × 7mm, while the folded dimensions are around 88.8 × 74.1 × 15mm. It weighs approximately 194 grams.
The phone was launched in Iconic Black and Mystic Dawn colour options. Its circular cover display and leather-style rear finish give it a distinctive premium appearance.
The hinge also allows the phone to remain partially folded at different angles, opening up additional possibilities for photography and hands-free use.
Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Software
The Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G originally launched with Android 13 and Tecno’s HiOS 13.5 interface.
The software includes features designed specifically for the foldable form factor, including functions for the circular cover display and flexible hinge.
Tecno also introduced ELLA GPT, an AI-powered assistant, with the phone. The company stated that the device would receive two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.
Because this is an older model, buyers should consider the current software-support situation before purchasing it in 2026.
Tecno PHANTOM V Flip 5G Connectivity
The smartphone supports 5G connectivity along with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
The device uses USB Type-C for charging and data transfer. It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
With 5G support, the phone can take advantage of compatible high-speed mobile networks where available.
